Business description

Between Italy and France, intense outdoor activities on foot, on horseback, in the water and by bicycle to discover the captivating Stura Valley.

Day 1

Arrival in Vinadio where you will meet our assistant from the Valley's sherpa bus, who will recommend a safe parking place and will take you back to Demonte in time for a short horseback ride to explore the sunny panoramic Vallone dell'Arma. Typical dinner and accommodation in Demonte.

Day 2

After breakfast departure for the Vanet - Vinadio trek (no. 3, estimated duration 7 hours), an integral part of the Lou Viage circuit, a long trail with 19 stages over 180 km that passes points of great landscape, historical and natural interest. From Vanet the path passes through sunny villages up to the Madonna del Pino and a wayside shrine which marks the start of the Punte Chiavardine trail. This soon becomes more challenging, but is highly spectacular and panoramic. The white - red markers indicate the path towards the Testa di Peitagù (1,815 m) which is followed by the descent on Grangette (1,457 m). Picnic lunch. The path descends along a tricky ledge until it joins the mule track that leads from Piron (Aisone) to Castellar delle Vigne. Here you turn right and after crossing the Rio Borbone you will soon reach the scenic village of Vinadio. Entrance to the Vinadio Fort, a spectacular example of military architecture and engineering commissioned by King Carlo Alberto. Dinner and accommodation in your selected facility in Vinadio.

Day 3

Breakfast and departure for another stage of the Lou Viage, no. 4 (duration about 3½ hours): we take the Neraissa Valley through the "Portassa" of Fort Albertino. The first stop is the Neghino Fort located in a vast panoramic area from which it was easy to spot any attacks on Fort Albertino from the mountains. Behind the fort, the road turns into a small path that goes northwards: the ruins of Lentre d'Adrecchio and the ruins of Lentre Soprano (1,162 m) are two interesting stops for photos. As you leave the village, a steep, narrow path becomes increasingly scenic and free from plants and shrubs, and in this setting of unspoiled and silent nature, you reach the ruins of Castellar (1,370 m). Picnic lunch. After a sharp curve, the landscape changes again and you go up towards a plain with Mount Nebius (2,600 m) in the background. Shortly before arriving at the village of Neraissa Inferiore, on the left side of the road you will see a stone building, the old village bakery; the stopover will be in the village chapel. Upon your return, a sumptuous tasting session awaits you with a platter of cheeses and typical salamis. Dinner and accommodation in Vinadio.

Day 4

Today we cross the French border for a lovely trip to the Lakes of Vens, located beyond the Ferro pass in the Haute Tinée within the Mercantour National Park; the lakes are located in a large grassy basin below the Testa del Ferro (2,768 m) and the summit of Las Blacias (2,942 m). Accompanied by a local nature guide, a pleasant hike awaits us, with a picnic lunch on the summit, a breathtaking, 360 degree view of the protected park of Mercantour, a visit to the unusual natural arch of Tortisse, departure and arrival at the pretty village of Ferrere. In the late afternoon we stop in Pontebernardo, an alpine village that gave birth to the cross-country ski champion Stefania Belmondo, for a visit to the small but well-kept pasture farming Ecomuseum. The last stop is to the Pietraporzio soap factory. Dinner and accommodation in Vinadio.

Day 5

After breakfast, we go back down the beautiful Stura Valley and reach our departure point for a water fun day, with the exciting descent of the river in a dinghy. Departure upstream of Demonte with arrival in Roccasparvera along the gorges and the thrilling rapids: tackle the rapids with a paddle in an unsinkable, self-draining boat, in a group and with a professional guide! The afternoon is dedicated to exploring the lower - middle valley and the Tajarè Bike Park on e-bikes: 140 km of dirt roads, 7 exciting routes in the company of a local cycling guide. Dinner and accommodation.
