Another magnificent route included in the excursionists itinerary  Gardetta Bike Emotions starts from the quaint village of Sambuco in the upper Stura Valley.

This route is the most demanding but a very impressive access route! Go up the imposing Rio Bianco valley surrounded by the impressive ridges of Monte Bodoira and Monte Bersaio. The completely dirt road has some detached  and steep sections, especially in the final part.

It is possible to access the route, shortening the uphill climb a little by starting from Pietraporzio and going up the asphalted road to Moriglione San Lorenzo.

Leaving the city of Cuneo, head towards Valle Stura as far as the village of Sambuco, where the route begins.

Sambucana sheep, renowned for their flavoursome meat, are a symbol of this valley and you can see and touch them at the Fiera dei Santi in Vinadio. An interesting Eco-museum of Sheep farming in the hamlet of Pontebernardo in Pietraporzio is dedicated to them and to the past stories of seasonal migrations.
