Highlights and tour details
Monferrato is a name that recalls hills, perched villages and Infernot, historic wine cellars carved into the tuff and a Unesco World Heritage Site. But for the many gravel enthusiasts who cycle through it, it means above all white roads, wide valleys, vineyards and panoramas, with an extension that can only be compared to Tuscany. You leave Alessandria on the new cycle bridge towards the countryside. Before entering the fantastic Monsterrato route, one of the first Italian events dedicated to gravel, there is an athletic test to face: the climb to the ridge to S. Salvatore Monferrato. From here you reach Casale Monferrato passing through countryside and roads with little traffic.
