Highlights and tour details
The Via del Mare Astigiano proposes itself as an itinerary through territories that were and still are strongly characterised by water. These are territories that markedly shared the presence of water in the past, whose history has been considerably expanded over the years through the surfacing of finds, the study of morphology and existing vegetation. The itinerary is based on the ridges which include routes already included in the regional hiking network. Within the route there are also several points of historical and cultural interest represented by significant historical centres and related architecture of mainly medieval origin but with Baroque extensions, such as the Castle of Costigliole, but also more ancient traces of Roman times such as the historical roads of Montegrosso.
