Highlights and tour details
The Big Chestnut Path: an easy path departing from the wood which reaches the area of the big chestnut (“castagna granda”), a real giant tree having more than 400 years whose circumference exceeds 10 meters. A real vegetal colossus situated in a flat meadow that houses many other centennial chestnut trees: standing under its branches or simply spending some time in the glade where it dwells are worthwhile experiences. Starting point of the Path in Roma Square, in the centre of the village of Monteu Roero, where it's possible to park the car and follow the signage, which pass in front of a suggestive amphitheatre of Rocche, a geologic erosion phenomenon that originates in the mists of times and still continues today.
