Up and down the hills from Moncalvo towards Grazzano, where the tomb of Aleramo is located, meeting up with one of UNESCO world heritage sites , the villages Moleto and Olivola characteristically made of canton stone, where according to legend is the hidden treasure of the Saracens.
Points of interest
Depart from Piazza di Moncalvo and head towards Grazzano; just before the town turn left towards la Madonna dei Monti (you can make an excursion to the tomb of Alemero in the hamlet of Grazzano); from the top of the Madonna dei Monti you can enjoy the beautiful panorama of the Monferrato hills. Go downhill towards Ottiglio and enter the Unesco Heritage villages of characteristic construction in calcarenite stone (tufo); from here you reach Moleto (visit the small center); we recommend an escursion in the picturesque village of Olivola Ghenza, and then back on the road towards Frassinello; from here descend into the Ghenza valley and go uphill towards Camagna, a scenic route through which you reach Vignale (we recommend a visit the many squares, the highest in Palazzo Callori in advanced stages of restoration). From Vignale proceed towards Casorzo and then to Grana. From here in the direction to Calliano and onto the station at Tonco and go uphill back to Alfiano Natta and, from there, returning to the starting point at Moncalvo.
