Highlights and tour details

Along the rice fields, passing through the typical farmhouses once inhabited by weeders and now often in ruins, following  the gravel roads used for threshing rice along the banks of the Sesia near the confluence of the two rivers.

Points of interest

Departing from Trino Vercellese, from piazza del Castello:  by way of gravel,  secondary roads and trails in the low Vercellese between Trino and Casale. You reach “Località Torrione” (a typical example of a farm used by weeders  constructed in military style of great value, but in poor condition). From here go to Rive; via dirt road you reach Villanova Monferrato then continue towards Motta dei Conti on an asphalted road; then take a dirt road along the Sesia river bank. Return for a short stretch on the state road and then resume along the embankment near the confluence between  the  Po and Sesia. After a short stretch take the embankment along river Po until reaching Casale. From there go through Casale Popolo on asphalt; then take a dirt road that takes you to  Balzola and from there along a dirt road until reaching Trino Vercellese.
